Account Manager

Summary:

Cerno, LLC is a high-end lighting design and manufacturing company, seeking an Account Manager. This individual must have previous experience in building and retaining strong relationships with customers, and have the ability to work independently to manage client questions and concerns. Previous experience in the lighting industry preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Answers customer inquiries and follows up with customer.
  • Coordinates resolution efforts when a customer service issue arises via phone and email.
  • Completes new account set up.
  • Coordinates quotes with sales team.
  • Creates opportunities for non-custom and non-volume orders.
  • Enters new leads into Salesforce.
  • Checks status of open customer service cases and delegate tasks using Salesforce.
  • Completes RMA Entry and management for assigned accounts.
  • Processes orders and updates order entry. Follows up on payments and invoicing until time of shipping.
  • Analyzes and makes improvements to existing processes.
  • Prepares materials and scheduling for onsite meetings.
  • Supports Accounting Clerk with accounts receivable.
  • Supports Freight Coordinator with shipping/freight as needed.
  • Performs general administrative tasks, including answering and directing phone calls, reply to email inquiries, and assist visitors.

Design Engineer

Summary: The Design Engineer works with the Design Department to develop new products and prepare them for manufacturing.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Engineers new products, including researching, sourcing, Solidworks modeling, BOM creation, building and testing prototypes, and designing production fixturing.
  • Identifies and documents specifications for new products.
  • Creates and maintains 3D models and part drawings for new and custom products.
  • Assists with the product testing and certification process, including working with UL, photometric testing labs, and other agencies.
  • Documents designs, revisions, and enters data into the manufacturing management software.
  • Completes the proper documentation for new designs.
  • Works with production staff to design and introduce production methods and processes for new products and product redesigns.
  • Maintains the company’s pipeline of new product development.
  • Works with the engineering and design department and members of other departments as needed.
  • Familiarizes self with Cerno’s product line and manufacturing methods.
  • Supports accounting, planning, and inventory departments, regarding part data.
  • Completes projects that require research, development, purchasing, manufacturing, outsourcing and documentation.
  • Manages prolonged projects through to completion.
  • Utilizes MRP system and other reports to monitor product demand.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of industry practices, technologies, and trends.
  • Takes initiative to improve and solve problems in the design process.
  • Effectively manages time and works with others to accomplish objectives.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Solidworks, Solidworks PDM, Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and Adobe InDesign
  • Understanding of Bills of Materials and inventory management principles
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Understanding of metal fabrication/machining methods and basic woodworking techniques
  • Knowledge of cost accounting
  • Basic understanding of optics and color science
  • Experience working with ERP systems (preferable Sage or MAS)
  • Experience with planning new products and an understanding of reorder points and economic order quantities
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret assembly drawings

Experience Level:

  • 2 to 5 years of mechanical design experience using Solidworks or similar software.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience using and mastering MRP/ERP systems such as Sage 100.
  • Experience in lighting industry preferred.
  • Machine shop experience preferred.

 

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Assembly Assistant

Summary:

This position is responsible for packaging and assembling high-end modern LED light fixtures. Prior packaging and product assembly experience is preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Packages final product for shipping.
  • Cuts and assembles packaging materials.
  • Conducts quality inspection of all products.
  • Completes mechanical assembly, including wire cutting and soldering.
  • Prepares and applies wood and metal finishing.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
